Legaliza na Hora handles the entire legalisation process for imported vehicles, from the customs vehicle declaration (DAV) to the issue of a Portuguese registration plate, through an online service available to private individuals and motor trade professionals across the country. The process covers the calculation of the vehicle tax (ISV), the analysis of the alternative calculation method provided by law, the technical inspection and the registration request with the IMT.
What sets the brand apart is its founder's legal and tax background: Edmundo Caetano, an entrepreneur with a law degree and a Master's in Tax Law from Universidade Católica Portuguesa and experience at PwC. Every file is analysed with tax rigour, including the alternative ISV calculation method, so that the client pays only the tax that is due.
Since 2015 the brand has legalised more than 10,000 vehicles and handled more than 3,000 European Certificates of Conformity. The average completion time is 24 working hours after complete documentation is received and the technical inspection is done. In 2026 it received the Quality Award in the Vehicle Legalisation Services category, awarded by ConsumerChoice.
Legaliza na Hora was the group's first brand and remains the foundation of all the others: importation (Caetano Trust), transport (Caetano CarGo), financing (LH Finance) and certificates of conformity (Caetano COC) all grew out of needs identified among clients legalising their vehicles.
