CERTIFICATES OF CONFORMITY · A CAETANO GROUP BRAND

Caetano COC: the European Certificate of Conformity to register your vehicle

Caetano COC is the Caetano Group brand dedicated to obtaining the European Certificate of Conformity (COC), the document issued by the manufacturer that proves a vehicle's European type approval and is required to register imported vehicles. The group has already handled more than 3,000 certificates.

The Certificate of Conformity (COC) is the document issued by the manufacturer stating that a vehicle complies with European type approval. Without it, registering an imported vehicle requires additional inspections that take longer and cost more. Caetano COC requests the certificate from manufacturers and their representatives, for any make approved in the European Union.

The brand grew out of Legaliza na Hora's experience, which over a decade handled more than 3,000 Certificates of Conformity for its clients. That volume made it possible to build direct relationships with manufacturers and official dealerships across Europe and to learn the lead times, costs and requirements of each make.

The service is aimed at private individuals importing a vehicle, motor trade professionals and clients in other European countries who need a COC to register a vehicle. The request is made online with the chassis number (VIN) and the vehicle's documents, and the certificate is delivered in physical or digital form, depending on the manufacturer.

Within the group, Caetano COC is integrated into Legaliza na Hora's legalisation process and Caetano Trust's importation: by the time the vehicle arrives in Portugal, the certificate is already sorted, which avoids delays at inspection and registration.

Send the chassis number (VIN) and the make of the vehicle. We reply with lead time and cost by email, phone or WhatsApp.

It is the document issued by the manufacturer proving that the vehicle complies with European type approval. It is required to register an imported vehicle without additional inspections.

How long does it take to obtain a COC?

It depends on the manufacturer and the format of issue: some issue it digitally, others only on paper, sent by post. The expected lead time is stated in the quote, before the request.
